President Poroshenko: Threat of full-scale aggression is upon entire Ukraine-Russia border

The threat of full-scale Russian aggression has not disappeared and now is hanging over the entire Ukraine-Russia border.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this during the meeting with senior staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The threat of full-scale Russian aggression has not disappeared. This threat oozes not only through the uncontrolled areas of the border in Donbas, it hangs over the entire border line with Russia," Poroshenko said.

The President explained why the threat was real. "The units of the Russian armed forces of up to 50,000 people are deployed in close proximity to our borders. There are also about 470 tanks, more than 1,700 armored vehicles, about 390 artillery systems and 220 systems of volley fire, around 490 combat aircrafts and hundreds of helicopters, 24 warships," the Ukrainian President said.

Poroshenko noted that Russians were establishing new, expanding and upgrading the existing military bases and other military infrastructure facilities.
