Verkhovna Rada approves access to foreign forces for peacekeeping exercises in Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved a law authorizing the admission of units of armed forces of other states into the territory of Ukraine in 2017 for the participation in multinational maneuvers.

The relevant bill was supported by 236 MPs on January 19, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In particular, the parliament approved a decision on granting access to the USA and other NATO member states and countries participating in the Partnership for Peace (PfP) to participate in the multinational military drill to train units of armed forces, the Ukrainian-U.S. military exercises Sea Breeze 2017, and the Ukrainian-U.S. military exercises Rapid Trident 2017.
