Militants launch 61 attacks on ATO troops in eastern Ukraine in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 61 attacks on ATO positions in Donbas over the past day. 

This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

"In Mariupol area, the enemy used 122mm artillery and 120mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions. Ukrainian servicemen came under120mm mortar fire near Vodiane [16km north-west of Donetsk] and Krasnohorivka [29 km west of Donetsk]," the report reads.

As noted, the enemy groups twice tried to seize the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk).

In Donetsk area, the tense situation was observed in Avdiyivka (18km north of Donetsk), where the enemy used 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms against Ukrainian defenders. In addition, militants used 120mm mortars near Troitske (69km west of Luhansk), 82mm mortars near Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk) and grenade launchers near Novhorodske (34km north of Donetsk) and Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk).

In Luhansk area, the enemy used different weapons to shell Ukrainian strongholds near Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk) and Zolote (67km north-east of Luhansk).
