OSCE claims that Joint Center for Control and Coordination not responds to denials of access in Luhansk region

The Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) on ceasefire and stabilization of the demarcation line between the parties to the conflict in Donbas does not come up to expectations regarding provision of access to hot spots in Donbas for the OSCE SMM monitors.

Principal Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug said this at a briefing on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The safe access for the monitors and the trust between the parties are needed to reduce the level of violence. We have the Joint Center for Control and Coordination, which has to monitor and coordinate in order to stop the violence and to reduce the number of violations. The JCCC must also respond quickly to the violations concerning the SMM activities, but the center does not come up to expectations," Hug said.

He noted that the number of denials of access for the OSCE SMM patrols to areas in Luhansk region has recently doubled.
