Militants launch 70 attacks on ATO troops in eastern Ukraine

Russian-backed militants launched 70 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbas over the past day. The most intensive shelling was recorded in Donetsk area.

"Ukrainian positions in Avdiyivka [18km north of Donetsk] came under 122mm artillery fire, banned under the Minsk agreements. The enemy also used 120mm and 82mm mortars to shell Novhorodske [34km north of Donetsk], Zaitseve [67km north-north-east of Donetsk] and Avdiyivka. In addition, 82mm mortars were used against our defenders in Mayorske [45km north of Donetsk] and  Troitske [69km west of Luhansk]. The militants used grenade launchers and heavy machine guns to shell Ukrainian strongholds in Avdiyivka, Novhorodske, Zaitseve and Luhanske [59km north-east of Donetsk]," the statement reads.

In Mariupol area, the terrorists used 120mm mortars to shell ATO positions in Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk).
