Iryna Herashchenko: Russian side shows no interest in Russian militants detained in eastern Ukraine

Iryna Herashchenko, the Ukrainian President’s Commissioner for peaceful settlement of the situation in the occupied Donbas, said that the Russian side did not express support and showed no interest in the Russian fighters detained in eastern Ukraine.

She posted this on her Facebook page following the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk.

"During the humanitarian subgroup meeting I asked the Russian side whether they were interested in their servicemen, who had been recently detained by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and now gave evidence about the conduct of hostilities in Donbas. I was answered that there were no Russian servicemen in Donbas," Herashchenko wrote.

As reported, Minsk hosted the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine on July 13.
