Turchynov: Nobody asked Putin about Ukraine’s borders

Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov has said that statements made by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the state border of Ukraine “is the direct political basis” for military aggression against Ukraine.

“First of all, nobody asked Putin when borders of our states were forming. Secondly, such public statements are the direct political basis for military aggression against our state,” Turchynov said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, such statements made by the president of the country, which disputes the existing borders in Europe are the undoubted display of aggression.

“We should respond not with the use of PR, but by strengthening the defense potential, by producing the weapon that can deter the aggressor,” Turchynov stressed.
