Situation in ATO area escalates

The situation in the ATO area has escalated. During the night, the pro-Russian militants shelled the Ukrainian positions, using the weapons banned by the Minsk Agreements.

The militants used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms fire to fire on the Ukrainian positions outside Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk) and Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk).

In addition, the enemy used heavy machine guns to shell Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk).

In Luhansk direction, the militants used automatic grenade launchers to fie on Zolote (67km north-east of Luhansk).

The pro-Russian militants violated the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine a total of 69 times over the past day.
