Total of 14,521 contract servicemen join army ranks year-to-date

Since the beginning of 2015,  a total of 14,521 contract servicemen joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Chief of personnel at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant-General Ihor Voronchenko told a briefing in Kyiv, Ukrinform reported.

"As of today since the beginning of 2015 14,521 contract servicemen joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of whom 10,223 were young civilians, 622 - from the mandatory military service, 3,676 - from the new military draft," he said.

The General noted that 11,985 persons signed contracts for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2014.
