Shooting in Kyiv: Eight people, including child, hospitalized
Eight people injured in a shooting in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district on Saturday, April 18, are currently being treated in hospitals in the capital.
According to Ukrinform, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported this on Telegram.
“Currently, eight people wounded yesterday by a gunman in the Holosiivskyi district are in hospitals in the capital. Among them is one child, who is in stable condition with moderate injuries,” the mayor wrote.
Among the adults, one victim is in extremely critical condition, three are in critical condition, and three more are in moderate condition.
Klitschko emphasized that all the wounded are receiving the necessary medical care.
As reported, on April 18 in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, an unknown individual opened fire on people.
He then took hostages in a store and fired at police officers during his arrest. Negotiators attempted to make contact with the attacker. Ultimately, he was neutralized.
Six people were killed in the shooting, and another 14 were injured.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko instructed the Head of the National Police of Ukraine, Ivan Vyhovskyi, to conduct an internal investigation into the actions of police officers during the terrorist attack in Kyiv and to provide all information to the State Bureau of Investigations.
Earlier, a video appeared on social media showing police officers allegedly fleeing from gunfire at the scene.
