Court arrests Head of SSU office in Zhytomyr region, bail set at nearly UAH 7 million
The High Anti-Corruption Court has ordered the detention of Volodymyr Kompanychenko, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) office in the Zhytomyr region, with the option of release on bail set at UAH 6.988 million.
The decision was handed down by investigating judge Oleksii Kravchuk, Ukrinform reports, citing the court’s press service on Telegram.
“The investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the motion of the prosecutor from the Office of the Prosecutor General and applied a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days (through April 25, 2026, inclusive) to the head of the SSU Office in the Zhytomyr region. As an alternative, the Anti-Corruption Court set bail for the suspect at UAH 6,988,800,” the statement said.
As reported earlier, on February 25, law enforcement officers detained Kompanychenko and Andrii Ukrainets, Commander of Logistics of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while they were allegedly receiving USD 320,000. Investigators say the suspects organized a scheme to misappropriate state funds during the construction of fortification facilities.
The prosecutor from the Office of the Prosecutor General had requested that the court order Kompanychenko’s detention with the option of bail in the equivalent of $320,000.
