Corruption in SSU and Air Force: Prosecutor seeks arrest with 320 million bail for two detainees

The prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office will petition the High Anti-Corruption Court for preventive measures in the form of arrest with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 320 million for the head of the Security Service of Ukraine in Zhytomyr region Volodymyr Kompanychenko and the commander of logistics of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Ukraintsev.

This was reported by Mariana Hayovska-Kovbasiuk, press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office, in a comment to Ukrinform.

“The prosecutor's office will request a preventive measure for the suspects in the form of detention with the alternative of bail in the amount of UAH 320 million for each,” she said, responding to questions about the detained officials.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has scheduled for today, February 27, the consideration of motions for the application of preventive measures to the head of the Security Service of Ukraine in Zhytomyr region and the commander of logistics of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the court's press service.

It is noted that the consideration of the motion to impose a preventive measure on the head of the regional SBU office is scheduled for 12:00, and on the commander of logistics of the Air Force – for 14:00.

As reported by Ukrinform, on February 25, law enforcement officers exposed the commander of logistics of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Ukraintsev, and the head of the Security Service of Ukraine in Zhytomyr region, Volodymyr Kompanychenko, for receiving bribes.
