Six more FSB agents detained for plotting terrorist attacks against Ukrainian military personnel
The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police detained six agents of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) who were preparing to blow up Ukrainian defenders using homemade explosive devices.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.
All the suspects were recruited by Russian special services through Telegram channels offering easy money.
Two members of a sabotage group were detained in Kyiv while attempting to plant explosives near one of the region's military units.
The suspects turned out to be two drug addicts from Kyiv, and their actions were coordinated by a detainee from a pre-trial detention center who set fire to a Defense Forces vehicle a year ago.
He involved his cellmate in the subversive activities. While behind bars, both repeat offenders continued to carry out orders from the Russian Federation and enlisted two accomplices on the outside to help them.
A Russian agent was detained in Vinnytsia while planting explosives near an apartment building where military families lived.
The detainee is a 19-year-old resident of Zhytomyr region, who, after being recruited, was sent by his handler to Vinnytsia, where he took an explosive device for a terrorist attack from a hiding place.
In Dnipro, law enforcement officers detained a couple who tried to blow up a local military man. To commit the crime, the suspects lured the military man to a meeting with the sister of a Ukrainian defender who was on the front line.
Before the meeting, the girl allegedly asked to pick up her brother's belongings from an acquaintance. In fact, it was the suspect who handed the soldier a bag with explosives.
Immediately after the transfer of the package, the invaders tried to remotely detonate the explosives, but law enforcement officers defused them in advance and detained the agent couple.
Another perpetrator was detained in Rivne, who was supposed to blow up the soldier's car. To do this, he planted explosives in the passenger compartment of the service car and installed a hidden camera nearby.
With the help of the video device, the invaders hoped to track the soldier's arrival at the site of the planned terrorist attack in order to eliminate him.
The suspects were charged under Part 2 of Article 111 (treason committed under martial law); Part 3 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 113 (sabotage committed by an organized group under martial law); Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 258 (completed attempt to commit a terrorist act by a group of persons acting in collusion); Part 3 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of explosives by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The perpetrators face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a 27-year-old resident of Lviv who, on behalf of the Russian special services, was preparing to blow up an apartment building in the center of Rivne.
