Ten crime bosses under NSDC sanctions deported from Ukraine

Ukraine residence permits of 27 crime bosses under the NSDC's sanctions have already been revoked, and another ten people have been deported to their countries of origin.

“Twenty-seven crime bosses, who are under sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defense Council, have had their residence permits already revoked in Ukraine. Ten people have been deported to their countries of origin. The natives of Georgia and Armenia, who maintained ties with criminals in their countries of origin and various regions of Ukraine, are among them,” the National Police informs about the results of the Strategic Investigations Department’s activity in exposing criminal bosses included in the sanctions list by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

It is specified that there were several so-called enforcers and natives of different countries among 17 crime bosses, whose certificates and other permits for residence in Ukraine were revoked.

According to the police, all of them are suspects in criminal proceedings, most of them stay in prisons.

"Each of them will be held responsible for their actions in accordance with Ukrainian law. They are charged with committing serious crimes: establishment and spread of criminal influence, creation of criminal organizations, robbery, kidnapping, extortion, etc.," the National Police informs.

As noted, the efforts to prevent the spread of criminal influence by crime bosses, who were put on the sanctions list by the National Security and Defense Council, are underway.

On May 14, President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, at which a decision was made to impose sanctions on representatives of criminal groups. Thus, restrictions were imposed on 557 so-called thieves in law, 542 of whom are foreigners, 15 – citizens of Ukraine. Sanctions were also imposed on 111 foreign nationals who reside in the territory of Ukraine and are considered to be criminal bosses.
