Over 60 grenades, two anti-tank grenade launchers seized from Dnipro resident

Law enforcers in Dnipro have seized a whole arms arsenal in the garage of a local resident, including 65 grenades with fuses, over a thousand cartridges and two man-portable anti-tank grenade launchers, the Dnipropetrovsk regional police department has said.

"On August 20, employees of the Dnipro police department conducted an authorized search in the garage of a 40-year-old local resident detained for unlawful handling of weapons. During the search, police found 65 grenades with fuses, over 1,000 cartridges of different calibers, two machine guns, two man-portable anti-tank grenade launchers, a signal rocket and an explosive," the statement reads.

The detainee was informed of a suspicion of committing an offense stipulated in Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. For the unlawful handling of weapons, ammunition and explosives the person faces imprisonment for a term of three to seven years. The question of choosing a measure of restraint for him for the period of the pre-trial investigation is being decided.
