National Police to enhance cooperation with UN in the field of human rights

Head of the National Police of Ukraine Serhiy Knyazev says that the National Police will enhance cooperation with the United Nations Organization in the field of human rights.

He stated this at a meeting with Head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Fiona Frazer, the press service of the Interior Ministry reports.

"As for the improvement of our cooperation, there is a special unit within the National Police, the Office on Ensuring Human Rights, due to which we will be able to organize constant interaction,” said Knyazev.

According to him, such cooperation is extremely important, as one of the main tasks of the police is to ensure the safety of citizens and their rights.

In turn, Fiona Frazer noted positive developments in the work of the Ukrainian police, in particular, and due to the cooperation of Ukrainian law enforcement officers with the UN mission.

Also, the UN Monitoring Mission in Ukraine highly appreciated the work of the police during the recent Equality March in Kyiv.
