BPP demands law enforcers investigate Samarsky's murder as soon as possible

The Bloc of Petro Poroshenko's Solidarity Party and the BPP faction in the Verkhovna Rada have demanded that law enforcement agencies promptly solve the murder of the head of the Solidarity faction in Severodonetsk Town Council, Serhiy Samarsky, the BPP has reported on its Facebook page.

"The BPP's Solidarity Party and the BPP faction in the Verkhovna Rada are outraged by the brutal murder of a public activist from Luhansk region, the head of the Solidarity faction in Severodonetsk Town Council, an adviser to the Severodonetsk mayor, a Ukrainian patriot, journalist Serhiy Samarsky. BPP Solidarity demands that law enforcement agencies investigate this terrible tragedy and punish criminals as soon as possible," the statement reads.

The party said that it would make every effort to solve this crime and punish the perpetrators.

As Ukrinform reported, Samarsky was killed in the town of Severodonetsk on Thursday, November 2. The body was found near his house.

Samarsky, an opponent of former President Viktor Yanukovych's regime, a deputy of the town council of the previous convocation, suffered from terrorists in 2014 (he spent several weeks in captivity).

In 2015, he was elected from the BPP. A few months ago, he was appointed an adviser to the mayor. After the town council secretary, the leader of the Opposition Bloc faction, entrepreneur Ihor Butkov, was dismissed, Samarsky was considered as a major candidate for the post of secretary.
