Prosecutor General Lutsenko promises to punish law enforcement officials for tortures

A group of officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) will soon be arrested for their involvement in torturing people.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko said this at the briefing in Chernihiv, Hromadske TV reports.

"The whole group of the SBU officers, based on last week’s reports, will soon be arrested for their involvement in torturing people. The senior officials shot people in the feet, hands, broke the skulls," Lutsenko said.

Earlier, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch international human rights organizations presented the reports on cases of detention and torture of civilians by both the representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and the militants in the uncontrolled territories of Donbas.
