Audit at Defense Ministry unveils almost 1,500 violations

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry and the Armed Forces conducted a range of checks as a result of which 1,397 persons were brought into account, four of whom were dismissed.

Acting head of the Defense Ministry’s department on the prevention and detection of corruption Yuriy Oniskovets said this at a press briefing on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, the resources totaling over UAH 1.3 billion were saved due to the conducted internal audit and the improvement of anti-corruption measures and the system of administrative management. Oniskovets also said that the conducted audits found the facts of violations worth almost UAH 438 million. The relevant case on violations has been sent to the law enforcement agencies, the official added.
