Russian intelligence servicemen sentenced to 14 years in prison

The Holosiyivsky District Court of Kyiv has sentenced Russian special operations servicemen Yevgeniy Yerofeyev and Alexandr Alexandrov to 14 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The verdict was announced by presiding judge Mykola Didyk on Monday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

During the preliminary hearing, Yerofeyev and Alexandrov stated they refused the testimony they had given during the pretrial investigation, pleaded not guilty and asked to acquit them.

As reported, Russian special operations servicemen Alexandrov and Yerofeyev were detained in the ATO area in Luhansk region on May 16, 2015. The prosecutors charged them with illegal border crossing and the terrorist attack on the positions of the 92nd brigade.
