Pro-Yanukovych bandits given over 400 automatic guns during Maidan clashes

The former leaders of the Interior Ministry had given 408 assault rifles and 90,000 rounds of ammunition to quench protesters during the Revolution of dignity in Kyiv.

Head of special investigations at the Prosecutor’s General Office Serhiy Horbatyuk told reporters at a press conference in Kyiv.

"The previous government totally crossed all boundaries and decided to provide guns to bandits on February 20. Interior Ministry mobilization arsenals gave 408 units of automatic guns to representatives of bandits," he said.

According to the official, the order to release arms was directly issued by former Interior Minister Vitaly Zakharchenko. Then the gun release operation was led by former Interior Ministry department chief Pavlo Zinov and acting police chief of Kiev Valery Mazan.
