Ammonia leak in Kyiv minor and poses no threat, says State Emergency Service
The ammonia leak that occurred on the premises of an industrial enterprise in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district following a Russian strike was minor and posed no threat to the public.
According to a Ukrinform correspondent, Pavlo Petrov, a spokesperson for the State Emergency Service in Kyiv, reported this on television.
“A minor ammonia leak occurred at one of the locations on the premises of the industrial facility. Immediately after the report, State Emergency Service chemists and representatives of the Kyiv City Emergency Service were dispatched to the site. Rescuers shut off the valves,” Petrov said.
He emphasized that the damage and the leak were minor.
“There is no threat to the lives or health of Kyiv’s residents,” the rescue service spokesperson emphasized.
He also reported that all fires that broke out following the Russian Federation’s nighttime attack have been extinguished, and no reports of deteriorating air quality in the capital have been received.
As reported by Ukrinform, starting on the evening of August 4, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with four Zircon/Onyx anti-ship missiles, 24 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles, and 115 combat UAVs.
As a result of the massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv, one person was killed, 24 were injured, and fires and damage occurred in four districts of the capital. A minor ammonia leak occurred at an industrial facility in the Holosiivskyi district.
