War update: 276 combat clashes on front line over past day
Over the past day on the front line, on May 31, 276 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded.
As Ukrinform reports, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook regarding the situation as of 08:00 on June 1.
The enemy carried out 86 air strikes, including dropping 264 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the invaders used 8,557 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,114 shellings, 55 of them with multiple launch rocket systems.
The Russian army also carried out air strikes, particularly on the areas of Luzhky, Pustohorod, and Vilna Sloboda in the Sumy region.
Air Force of the Defense Forces struck three command posts and four areas where Russian personnel were concentrated.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, there were eight clashes. The enemy carried out 80 shellings, four of them with MLRS.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, Russian troops stormed 12 times in the areas of Lyman, Veterynarne, Kolodiazne, Synelnykove, and Starytsia.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped three enemy attacks in the areas of Shyikivka and Kupiansk.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 11 attempts by the invaders to advance near Kopanky, Novomykolaivka, Dibrova, Stavky, Drobysheve, Lyman, and Ozerne.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces stopped six Russian attempts to advance in the areas of Kryva Luka, Kalynky, Nykyforivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped one enemy attack in the area of Tykhonivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 14 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, Mykolaivka, Pleshchiivka, and Stepanivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Defense Forces stopped 49 Russian assault actions in the areas of Vilne, Dorozhne, Bilytske, Rodynske, Oleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Shevchenko, Molodetske, Novopavlivka, Novooleksandrivka, Serhiivka, Kotlyne, and Udachne.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the Russian army attacked twice in the areas of Tovste and Verbove.
In the Huliaipole direction, there were 43 Russian attacks in the areas of Zaliznychne, Vozdvyzhivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Huliaipilske, Charivne, Verkhnia Tersa, Rybne, Tsvitkove, Novoselivka, and Varvarivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy tried 10 times to break through the defense near Shcherbaky, Bilohiria, Nesterianka, and Stepnohirsk.
In the Prydniprovske direction, Ukrainian units stopped one enemy attack toward the Antonivskyi Bridge.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of Russian offensive groupings were detected.
As Ukrinform reported, the total combat losses of Russian forces from February 24, 2022, to June 1, 2026, in the war against Ukraine amount to about 1,365,470 personnel.
