One civilian killed, two injured in Russian strikes on Sumy region over past day
Russian forces carried out more than 50 attacks on 19 settlements in the Sumy region over the past day, killing one civilian and injuring two others.
Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, a 59-year-old man was killed in the Krasnopillia community as a result of an explosion of an enemy UAV. A 48-year-old woman was also injured.
In the Khotin community, a 65-year-old man was wounded.
In total, Russian forces shelled 19 settlements across 11 communities in the region more than 50 times.
The attacks damaged private homes, civilian vehicles, shops, non-residential buildings, and infrastructure facilities.
Six people were evacuated from border communities.
Air raid alerts in the region lasted 23 hours and 31 minutes.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russian forces carried out a massive overnight drone attack on the Shostka community, damaging 11 apartment buildings.
