Soldiers of the "Artan" special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, together with adjacent units of Ukraine's Defense Forces, drove Russian invaders out of fortified positions in Stepnohirsk.

According to Ukrinform, the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) reported this on Facebook and released video footage of the combat operation.

"Exclusive footage of the intense combat work of assault troops from the HUR special unit 'Artan' in Stepnohirsk on the Zaporizhzhia front," the statement said.

During the operation, which was carried out in close coordination with adjacent units, military intelligence special forces conducted a series of active offensive actions aimed at pushing out Russian invaders and stabilizing the situation in the town.

"The vehicle used by HUR special forces assault groups to advance on enemy positions was targeted by an enemy FPV 'waiting drone,' but it was coolly destroyed," HUR reported.

According to the military, as a result of fighting in difficult urban conditions, Russian occupying forces were driven from fortified positions, and key locations in Stepnohirsk came under the control of Ukraine's Security and Defense Forces.

According to Artan commander Viktor Torkotyuk, "The assault actions were carried out in a coordinated manner, using aerial reconnaissance and precise fire strikes. Every building was checked for 'surprises' and remaining enemy personnel. We do not rule out that the enemy will continue attempts to re-enter the town, but we are ready for this."

As Ukrinform previously reported, Ukraine's Defense Forces regained control of the village of Odradne and its surrounding areas in the Kharkiv region.
