Russia deploys 320 soldiers to assault units of 5th Army following losses near Huliaipole, says Voloshyn
The Russian command is deploying additional forces to the assault units of the 5th Army, which suffered losses in battles in the Huliaipole sector. Specifically, this involves 320 soldiers who were transported from the rear areas of the Russian Federation to the Rostov region.
This was reported in a comment to Ukrinform by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.
“According to intelligence reports, a convoy carrying 320 servicemen arrived in the Rostov region from rear areas of the Russian Federation to reinforce the assault units of the 5th Army, which suffered significant losses in battles near Huliaipole,” Voloshyn noted.
He recalled that the Russian command failed to accomplish its assigned tasks in this sector and suffered significant losses during its attempts to advance.
“The enemy command, which was tasked with capturing Verkhnia Tersa and Vozdvyzhivka by May 15, failed to do so, suffered losses, and is now sending reinforcements there from rear areas,” the spokesperson concluded.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have halted the advance of the Russian 5th Army.
