Air raid alert lasts in Kyiv for more than 8 hours: One person killed and injury toll climbs to 33 following Russian strike
In Kyiv, the injury toll from the massive Russian attack on May 14 has increased to 33, including a two-month-old infant. One person was killed.
According to Ukrinform, Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported this on Telegram.
“The number of wounded has increased to 33 people. Among them is a two-month-old infant who was poisoned by carbon monoxide,” the message states.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office reported 32 casualties.
“As a result of the Russian Federation’s attack on Kyiv on May 14, as of 8:30 a.m., there is one confirmed fatality and 32 casualties, including a two-month-old infant and a police officer. The air raid alert lasted over 8 hours,” the post stated.
In the Darnytskyi district, one building section was destroyed after a nine-story building was hit; a 30-year-old man died there, and a rescue operation is ongoing.
Damage from strikes and falling debris has been reported in the Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Obolonskyi, Pecherskyi, Solomianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the capital.
Eleven high-rise residential buildings, 27 cars, a supermarket, two car showrooms, two gas stations, a business center, and a car repair shop have been damaged.
Law enforcement officers and rescue workers are on the scene of the strikes and debris falls, setting up emergency centers to assist the victims.
In the Darnytskyi district, an emergency center has been set up at 9 Bratstva Tarasivtsiv Street (behind the building in the green area).
In the Dniprovskyi district, aid centers are operating at the following addresses: 39-B Almatynska St., at the Preschool No. 62 “Zerniatko,” and 10 Budivelnykiv St., at the Gymnasium No. 188.

Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the commission by Russian military personnel of yet another war crime resulting in the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
As reported by Ukrinform, Air Defense Forces intercepted 41 missiles and 652 drones used by Russian invaders to attack Ukraine beginning on the evening of May 13. Kyiv was the primary target of the attack.
