War update: 155 clashes on front line, Ukrainian forces eliminate about 50 occupiers in Pokrovsk direction
Over the course of May 5, there were 155 combat clashes between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian invaders, including 34 enemy attacks recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook in an operational update as of 22:00.
"In total, since the beginning of the day, there have been 155 combat engagements... The enemy launched one missile strike using 11 missiles, carried out 40 airstrikes, and dropped 141 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 6,023 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,606 shelling attacks on settlements and our troops' positions," the statement says.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, two clashes took place. The enemy carried out two airstrikes using five guided bombs and conducted 74 shelling attacks, including three using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy launched 12 assaults near the settlements of Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Okhrimivka, Starytsia, Lyman, and toward Izbytske. One clash is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked twice toward Radkivka and Kindrashivka.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces repelled six attempts by the enemy to advance near Drobysheve, Stavky, Dibrova, and Torske. One clash is ongoing.
No offensive actions were recorded in the Sloviansk direction.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped one enemy attack toward Nykyforivka.
Defense forces successfully repelled 12 enemy assaults in the Kostiantynivka direction near several settlements, including Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and others.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 34 attacks.
According to preliminary estimates, 50 occupiers were eliminated and 16 wounded in this direction today. Ukrainian forces destroyed two vehicles, four pieces of special equipment, two artillery guns, and one UAV control point. They also damaged additional equipment, including vehicles, artillery, and drone control points, and destroyed or suppressed 170 drones of various types.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attempted 12 assaults toward multiple settlements; one clash is ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, 18 enemy attacks took place; two clashes are ongoing.
No offensive actions were recorded in the Orikhiv direction.
In the Prydniprovske direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled three assault attempts toward Antonivka and Bilogrudyi Island.
No significant changes were reported in other directions.
As reported by Ukrinform, total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, up to May 5, 2026, are estimated at about 1,336,120 personnel.
