Russian strikes kill 14 across Ukraine on Monday, nearly 60 injured – interior minister
Russian strikes have killed 14 people across Ukraine since the start of the day, with nearly 60 others injured, according to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.
In a post on Telegram, Klymenko said Russian forces carried out more than 70 attacks across the country, affecting seven regions, Ukrinform reports.
"The hardest hit was Merefa in the Kharkiv region, where an enemy strike claimed the lives of seven people. In Vilniansk in the Zaporizhzhia region, a strike hit the grounds of a church, killing two parishioners," the minister said.
Among other attacks, Russian forces targeted energy infrastructure facilities in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Chernihiv regions. Klymenko stressed that these were not random strikes but a deliberate tactic of terror against civilians.
"From the first minutes, our services have been working at the sites. Rescuers and police are evacuating the wounded and providing first aid. Fires are being quickly extinguished and rubble cleared. Investigators are carefully documenting the consequences of the attacks," he added.
Earlier in the day, Russian forces launched one ballistic missile and 88 drones of various types at Ukraine.
