About 21 km of roads need to be covered with anti-drone nets in Sumy– City Military Administration
In Sumy, anti-drone nets need to cover 8,000 square meters of areas and 21 km of roads.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Serhii Kryvosheienko, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"The intensity of enemy UAV attacks in Sumy necessitates stronger protective measures in the city. At present, this involves covering 8,000 square meters of areas and 21 km of roads with anti-drone nets," the statement says.
Kryvosheienko also noted that the cost of installing the anti-drone coverings has already been calculated: about UAH 23 million will be allocated from the Sumy community budget for these works.
According to him, the implementation requires taking into account many factors affecting the effectiveness of anti-drone protection, including mesh density, strength of supports, placement, and others.
"Therefore, certified units specializing in the professional installation of anti-drone coverings will be involved to ensure high-quality execution of these tasks," he added.
As Ukrinform reported, the intensity of Russian strike drone attacks on the Sumy region remains consistently high. Over the past month, air defense forces and mobile fire groups in the region have neutralized more than 120 enemy drones. Despite a high interception rate (averaging 85–90%), falling debris and occasional direct hits continue to damage civilian infrastructure.
