War update: 91 combat engagements since morning, greatest pressure in Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions
Since the beginning of the day, the Russian army has attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 91 times. The enemy shows the highest activity on the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook regarding the situation as of 16:00 on Tuesday, April 21.
Russian troops shelled the settlements of Korenyok, Bachivsk, Rohizne, Atynske, Iskryskivshchyna, Volfyne, and Seredyna-Buda in the Sumy region, as well as Mykolaivka in the Chernihiv region. In addition, Yastrubshchyna and Pavlivka were hit by air strikes.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the Russian army carried out one air strike using a guided aerial bomb (KAB), and conducted 50 shellings of populated areas and Ukrainian military positions, three of which involved multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy once attempted to improve its position near Prylipka.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces carried out one assault near Kurylivka.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled seven attempts by the occupiers to advance toward the settlements of Stavky, Drobysheve, Lyman, and Dibrava.
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy twice attempted to advance toward Riznykivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked six times toward Nykyforivka, Holubivka, Bondarne, Maiske, and Vasiutynske. One of these attacks is still ongoing.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the Russian army carried out 21 attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Yablunivka, Sofiivka, Novopavlivka, and Kucheriv Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day the enemy has made 30 attempts to push Ukrainian soldiers from their positions toward the settlements of Bilytske, Nykonorivka, Rodynske, Shevchenko, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Muravka, Molodetske, Novopidhirodne, and Novopavlivka. Four of these assaults are still ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivsk direction, the occupiers attacked nine times toward the settlements of Oleksandrohrad, Kalynivske, and Zlahoda. Two attacks are still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, nine attacks took place toward Ukrainian defensive positions in the areas of Zaliznychne, Sviatopetrivka, Staroukrainka, and Huliaipilske. Air strikes hit Velyka Terna, Vozdvyzhivka, Polohy, Kopani, Sviatopetrivka, Dolynka, Lisne, Huliaipilske, Novoselivka, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried out five assault actions toward Shcherbaky, Plavni, and Stepnohirsk. Two of them are still ongoing.
In the Prydniprovske direction, Russian forces did not conduct any assault actions.
In other frontline directions, the situation remains largely unchanged. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.
As Ukrinform reported, Russian forces are improving their aerial attack capabilities by implementing mesh networks that allow real-time control of strike drones from Russian territory.
