Russians strike port in Izmail, damaging production buildings and railway facilities

On the night of April 17, Russian forces attacked the port in Izmail, causing damage.

The Ministry for Communities and Territories Development reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"At night, Russia once again attacked the port infrastructure of the Odesa region. In Izmail, a UAV strike on the port territory was recorded. Administrative and production buildings, as well as railway infrastructure facilities, were damaged. Fires broke out and were promptly extinguished by rescuers," the statement said.

According to the ministry, no one was injured. Relevant services are working at the scene. The Ministry emphasized that attacks on the region's port infrastructure have been ongoing for several consecutive days. Despite this, the ports continue operating and ensuring global food security.

As reported earlier, on April 14, Russian forces directed a drone at a commercial vessel traveling along the maritime corridor to load grain.
