Russia stepping up assaults across frontline, 61 combat clashes reported
Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have attacked the positions of Ukraine’s defenders 61 times. The heaviest fighting has been recorded in the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 16:00 on Friday, April 10, according to Ukrinform.
Russian forces shelled border settlements in the Sumy region with artillery, including Korenok, Bachivsk, Sukhodil, Atynske, and Ryzhivka.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, ten combat clashes took place, four of which are still ongoing. In addition, Russian troops carried out 84 shelling attacks on settlements and Ukrainian defense positions, including 32 using multiple launch rocket systems, and conducted two airstrikes using six guided aerial bombs.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched eight assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk, Kolodiazne, Starytsia, and Prylipka.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian troops attempted twice to improve their tactical position near Novoplatonivka.
In the Lyman sector, four Russian assaults took place near Nadiia, Zarichne, and Olhivka; one clash is still ongoing.
In the Sloviansk and Kramatorsk sectors, the enemy did not conduct active operations.
In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian invaders carried out twelve attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Stepanivka, Ivanopillia, and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy attempted twelve times to push Ukrainian troops out of their positions near Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Hryshyne, Filiia, and Novoserhiivka; one clash is ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces launched three offensives near Kalynivske and Verbove. The outskirts of the settlement of Kolomiitsi were hit by an airstrike.
In the Huliaipole sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 11 enemy attacks near Dobropillia, Varvarivka, Huliaipole, Staroukrainka, Charivne, and Zaliznychne. Russian forces also carried out airstrikes near Vozdvyzhivka, Verkhni Tersa, Charivne, and Rizdvianka.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russian forces launched airstrikes near Orikhiv.
In the Prydniprovske sector, Russian invaders conducted three offensive actions toward the Antonivskyi Bridge but achieved no success.
In other sectors of the front, no significant changes in the situation were observed.
No attempts by the enemy to advance were recorded.
As reported by Ukrinform, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian forces have gained an advantage over Russian forces in the use of drones on the battlefield, which likely contributes to halting Russian advances and supporting recent counterattacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
