Ukrainian forces repel four-direction Russian assault in Kostiantynivka
Ukrainian forces have repelled a combined Russian assault launched from four directions in Kostiantynivka.
According to Ukrinform, the 28th Mechanized Brigade announced this on Facebook and released a video of the operation, Ukrinform reports.
"Day by day, the Russians are increasing attempts to push as many troops as possible into Kostiantynivka. We are already used to endless small groups and have repelled mechanized assaults, but this time the enemy tried to outsmart us. As a diversion, the Russians launched two 'reinforced' tanks from the direction of Toretsk, while three infantry groups were supposed to carry out the assault from different directions," the video description said.
The first group advanced near Ivanopillia, the second moved on motorcycles along the highway toward Pokrovsk, and the third, composed of special forces, was to advance near the railway line.
Drone pilots from brigade units, along with adjacent units of the Security Service of Ukraine, National Guard of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Ground Forces destroyed one tank and quickly eliminated the first and second groups using FPV drones and aerial drops.
"The special forces stood out the most. One of them got lost under fire and was captured by our infantry. Of all the 'tricksters,' he was the only one who managed to survive," the brigade reported.
