Air defense forces neutralize 234 Russian drones

Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 234 out of 251 drones launched by Russia in an attack starting on the evening of March 22.

According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated on Telegram.

From 18:00 on Sunday, March 22, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 251 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and other types, launched from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea). About 150 of them were Shahed-type drones.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 on Monday, March 23, air defense shot down or suppressed 234 UAVs.

Hits by 17 strike drones were recorded at 11 locations, as well as the falling of downed drones or debris at eight locations.

The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian drones attacked residential buildings in the suburbs of Odesa and port infrastructure.
