Female conductor killed while evacuating passengers on Odesa Railway

On the Odesa Railway, a female conductor was fatally injured and one person was wounded during the evacuation of passengers.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Evacuation due to drone threats to passenger trains saves lives, but at the same time can pose a critical danger if even the slightest carelessness occurs. Unfortunately, today we have an extremely tragic incident: on the Odesa Railway, during a train stop and passenger evacuation, a conductor was fatally struck by an oncoming train that was also heading to its evacuation stop. In addition, one of the passengers sustained moderate injuries," the statement reads.

A thorough investigation into the accident is underway.

The enemy also attacked rolling stock on the Prydniprovsk Railway once again—this time a commuter train locomotive. Thanks to a timely evacuation, neither the passengers nor the locomotive crew were injured, railway officials added.

As reported by Ukrinform, Intercity trains on the Kyiv–Kharkiv route are temporarily operating with a restriction to Poltava, with connecting routes to Kharkiv in sleeper cars.
