Ukrenergo: Russian attacks cause power outages in six regions

As of the morning of March 13, Russian attacks have left users in six regions of Ukraine without power.

According to Ukrinform, NPC Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.

"As a result of enemy attacks on energy infrastructure, as of this morning, there are new power outages in the Sumy, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions. Where security conditions allow, emergency repair work is already underway. Energy companies are doing everything possible to restore power to all users as quickly as possible," the statement said.

Due to the consequences of previous massive attacks on the energy sector, power restriction schedules for industry are expected in all regions from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., hourly power outage schedules for other categories of users are expected.

As of 9:30 a.m. on Friday, electricity consumption is at the same level as yesterday. Ukrenergo advises adjusting consumption to account for weather conditions. In particular, it recommends shifting the use of powerful appliances to the hours when solar power plants are most efficient, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“During the period of forced hourly power cuts, please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances and do not turn on several such appliances at the same time,” the company added.

As reported, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Volyn regions already cover their electricity consumption, either fully or partially, through their own generation.
