Six rescuers injured in repeated Russian strikes in Kharkiv region

Six rescuers were injured in the village of Zolochiv as a result of repeated Russian strikes, two of whom are in hospital.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, this was reported during the Suspilne broadcast by Yevhen Vasylenko, spokesperson for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

"At night, the enemy launched drone strikes on the central part of the village of Zolochiv, causing serious damage to administrative, commercial, and residential buildings. Units of the State Emergency Service were dispatched to the site. The enemy launched repeated strikes, significantly damaging a fire and rescue vehicle. The rescuers subsequently sought medical assistance. As of now, six rescuers have been injured, two of whom have been hospitalized with a diagnosis of “blast injury,” Vasylenko said.

According to him, three hours later, Russian troops struck a service vehicle in which rescuers from the Zolochiv community were driving to the scene.

“The car was damaged. Fortunately, the personnel were not injured,” Vasylenko said.

In the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv, where a fire broke out as a result of shelling, the enemy also struck the place where rescuers were working. “We received a prompt report of a second strike and managed to evacuate the personnel. Neither people nor equipment were harmed,” the spokesman said.

According to him, the Russians used various types of drones. “The first strikes were carried out by Geran-type UAVs. Law enforcement agencies are investigating what was used in the second attack in Zolochiv,” said the SES spokesman.

He added that the department has the necessary special equipment in reserve to replace the damaged one.
