War update: 113 combat clashes, Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka hottest areas
Since the beginning of the day, 113 combat clashes have taken place between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian troops.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, providing operational information as of 22:00 on Saturday, March 7, according to Ukrinform.
"A total of 113 combat clashes have occurred since the beginning of the day. The enemy carried out one missile strike using 29 rockets and 58 airstrikes dropping 170 glide bombs. In addition, they deployed 6,562 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,471 shelling attacks on settlements and positions of our troops," the report says.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy conducted 115 shellings of Ukrainian positions and settlements today, including three with multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS). They carried out three airstrikes using eight glide bombs.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy assaulted Ukrainian positions four times near Hrafske, Vilcha, Zybine, and Pishchane. Two assault operations are ongoing.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attacked four times near Pishchane, Kurylivka, Kivsharivka, and Novoosynove. One attack is ongoing.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled four enemy attacks near Serednie, Novyi Myr, and Drobysheve. One assault is ongoing.
In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy attempted to advance 12 times toward Platonivka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, Kalenyky, Dronivka, Zakitne, Riznykivka, and Pazeno. Three attempts to improve their position are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the aggressor attacked once near Minkivka.
In the Kostiantinivka sector, the Russian invaders assaulted Ukrainian defensive positions 15 times today near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and Novopavlivka. One enemy assault is ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy carried out 19 attacks. They attempted to advance near Novyi Donbas, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Novopidhorodnie, Nikanorivka, Shevchenko, Pokrovsk, and Hryshyne.
Preliminary estimates indicate that 39 enemy personnel were killed and 23 wounded in this sector today; two vehicles were destroyed, nine shelters damaged, five units of enemy vehicles and three artillery systems destroyed. A total of 141 drones of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces attempted three times to improve their position, attacking near Verbove and Novohryhorivka.
In the Huliaipole sector, 11 enemy attacks occurred near Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Varvarivka, Myrne, and Zelene. Two attacks are ongoing.
In the Orikhiv sector, no enemy attacks were conducted.
In the Prydniprovske sector, no assault actions by the enemy were recorded.
In other sectors of the front, no significant changes in the situation were reported.
As reported by Ukrinform, in the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian paratroopers destroyed a group of Russian soldiers who were attempting to plant mines near Zahryzove.
