Russian strike on Kharkiv kills four, children among ten injured

Two people were killed and ten others injured, including children, after Russian forces carried out a ballistic missile strike on a residential building in Kharkiv. People are believed to remain trapped under the rubble.

This was reported on Telegram by Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov, according to Ukrinform.

“As a result of the enemy strike, an entrance section of a five-story residential building in Kharkiv’s Kyivskyi district was virtually destroyed. A nearby building was also damaged,” he said.

According to the official, one fatality was initially confirmed. Another 10 people were injured, including two boys aged 6 and 11 and a 17-year-old girl.

Up to 10 people may still be trapped under the rubble, possibly including a child. “All necessary emergency services are working at the site, and a search-and-rescue operation is ongoing,” Syniehubov noted.

Later, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported: “Rescuers have found the body of another victim under the rubble.”

A while later, he added that rescuers had found the bodies of the third and fourth victims.

According to earlier reports, an air alert was declared across Ukraine due to drone and missile threat.
