Ten aerial bombs fall on Russia from its own aircraft since start of year, media reports
Russian bombers have dropped at least 10 aerial bombs on Russia in 2026.
According to Ukrinform, this is evidenced by data from the Astra Telegram channel.
It is reported that on February 3, a high-explosive aerial bomb (FAB) was found near the village of Sytne in the Korochansky district of the Belgorod region. Three days later, on February 6, an aerial bomb fell near the village of Khriashchove in the same district.
According to Astra's sources in the region's emergency services, the bombs that “malfunctioned” in the Belgorod region did not explode, and no one was injured as a result of the incidents.
“Thus, according to Astra, this is at least 9 and 10 bombs dropped by Russian aircraft on the territory of the Russian Federation in 2026,” the report says.
It is noted that in 2025, Russia “dropped” at least 143 aerial bombs on its territory and the occupied territories of Ukraine, and in 2024, at least 165 Russian FABs.
As reported by Ukrinform, Russian military aircraft dropped 53 aerial bombs on regions of Russia and occupied territories of Ukraine from March to May 2024.
