Ukrainian forces regained more land in February than enemy captured – CinC Syrskyi
Over the three winter months, the Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted significant losses on the enemy and regained control of more territory than the enemy managed to capture.
According to Ukrinform, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi said this in a post on Facebook.
"We held the line in this difficult 'battle for the winter. […] Over the three winter months, we eliminated more enemy soldiers than the enemy recruited into its ranks," Syrskyi said.
According to him, during this period, Russian invading forces suffered approximately 92,850 personnel losses – killed and wounded – averaging 1,031 per day.
In addition, the enemy lost 322 tanks, 430 armored combat vehicles, 2,967 artillery systems, 110 multiple launch rocket systems, 55 air defense systems, five aircraft, one helicopter, 65,269 operational-tactical UAVs, one ship and one submarine, 11,927 vehicles, and 65 pieces of special equipment.
"In February 2026, for the first time since the Kursk offensive operation, the Ukrainian Defense Forces regained control of more territory than the enemy managed to capture," Syrskyi said.
He highlighted the successful actions of Ukrainian troops in the Oleksandrivka and Huliaipole sectors, the control of Kupiansk, and the containment of enemy forces in the Pokrovsk‑Myrnohrad agglomeration.
"I thank Ukrainians for their resilience and for supporting the army. My sincere gratitude goes to Ukrainian soldiers thanks to whom we endured this difficult winter," he concluded.
