Russian army prepares local assault operations in south, Voloshyn claims

Russian troops are conducting a rotation, replenishing units and preparing them for limited assault operations across several areas of the southern front. Still, a large-scale spring offensive is not expected at this time.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, announced during a television broadcast.

Referring to intelligence data, Voloshyn noted: "The enemies are carrying out rotational measures, replenishing units that have suffered losses, and preparing units to conduct assault operations in some areas. This is not a large-scale offensive on a specific section of the front, but rather active assault operations in several sectors."

According to him, enemy activity is expected in the Orikhiv sector, in particular near the settlements of Stepnohirsk and Orikhiv, as well as in the Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka sectors.

The spokesman stressed that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are ready for this.

“We will stop this intensification and continue to destroy the enemy,” he said.

As reported by Ukrinform, Voloshyn said that Russian troops try to capture the village of Zaliznychne near Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region, but it remains under Ukrainian Defense Forces control.
