Ukraine’s air defenses down 84 out of 94 Russian drones overnight
Air defense forces intercepted 84 out of 94 drones used by Russian forces to attack Ukraine since the evening of March 1.
This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
According to the report, from 18:30 on Sunday, March 1, Russian troops launched 94 attack drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, along with drones of other types, from the directions of Oryol, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea). About 70 of them were Shahed drones.
The aerial assault was countered by aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare and drone units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Preliminary data as of 08:00 on Monday, March 2, indicate that air defense systems destroyed or suppressed 84 drones over northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
Strikes by 10 attack drones were recorded at four locations, and debris from downed drones fell at two locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, during the night of March 2, Kryvyi Rih came under a massive drone attack by Russian forces.
