Russian shelling kills one, injures two in Kherson region

In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two others were injured on Saturday as a result of Russian shelling throughout the day.

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"On February 28, 2026, servicemen of the Russian armed forces continued shelling settlements in the region using artillery, mortars, and unmanned aerial vehicles. As of 17:30, it has been established that one person was killed and two civilians were injured as a result of the attacks," the statement said.

According to prosecutors, in the morning, a 31-year-old man suffered burns in one of the districts of Kherson following a drone attack. Later, under similar circumstances, a local resident was also injured.

During the day, Russian troops shelled the settlement of Bilozerka with artillery, killing a 72-year-old local woman.

As a result of the shelling, private and apartment buildings, a dormitory, and vehicles were damaged.

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office has launched pre-trial investigations into the commission of war crimes (Parts 1 and 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

On February 27, eight people were injured in the Kherson region as a result of Russian aggression.
