Man opens fire at military enlistment officers in Lutsk
In Lutsk, a man fired several shots in the direction of servicemembers of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support during notification measures.
According to Ukrinform, the Volyn Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support announced this on Facebook.
Thanks to the swift and coordinated actions of the servicemembers, the attacker was subdued, the weapon was seized, and handed over to police officers.
No military personnel were injured during the incident, which occurred on February 24, the center said. The investigation is ongoing.
The Volyn Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support stressed that any manifestations of violence or armed aggression against servicemembers while they are performing their official duties are unacceptable and will be subject to proper legal assessment in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that work was underway on a comprehensive reform of the mobilization system aimed at addressing problems that have accumulated over the past few years while preserving the country's defense capability.
