Over 70 shellings: Man injured in Sumy region
Yesterday, Russian troops shelled the Sumy region over 70 times, leaving one person injured.
According to Ukrinform, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this on Facebook.
“During the day, from the morning of February 22 to the morning of February 23, 2026, Russian troops carried out more than 70 shellings of 21 settlements in 12 territorial communities of the region,” the report said.
It is noted that a 36-year-old man was injured in the Sumy community as a result of a guided aerial bomb strike.
A 9-year-old girl who was injured on February 21 in the Sumy community due to an enemy UAV strike also sought medical attention.
The most shelling was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
The enemy used artillery, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs on the territory of the Sumy region.
In the Shostka community, an administrative building, an apartment building, and private residential buildings were damaged; in the Znob-Novhorod community, a school building, a cultural center, a private residential building, and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged; in the Sumy community, a civilian infrastructure facility, private residential buildings, farm buildings, and a passenger car were damaged.
As reported by Ukrinform, in Trostianets, Sumy region, Russian troops attacked a civilian enterprise owned by the American company Mondelez.
