Air defense forces neutralize 105 out of 126 Russian drones

Ukraine’s air defense forces neutralized 105 out of 126 drones launched by Russian troops in an overnight attack that began on Sunday evening.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.

Starting at 18:00 on Sunday, February 22, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with one Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from the Rostov region, as well as 126 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmass types and other types of drones from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea). About 80 of the drones were Shahed-type UAVs.

The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 on Monday, February 23, air defense forces had shot down or suppressed 105 drones in the north, south, and east of Ukraine.

Hits by the ballistic missile and 20 strike UAVs were recorded at 11 locations, as well as the fall of downed targets (debris) at one location.

The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.

As Ukrinform previously reported, in the Odesa region overnight on February 23, two people were killed and three injured as a result of a Russian strike drone attack.
