Partisans destroy electric locomotive in Oryol, disrupting Russian troop logistics in Sumy sector
An agent of the ATESH partisan movement carried out a successful act of sabotage at a railway hub in Oryol, setting fire to and disabling critical equipment of a VL80 mainline freight electric locomotive.
ATESH reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
The VL80 is considered a "workhorse" of Russian railways – a heavy-duty locomotive used to transport multi-tonne military trains. The destroyed unit had been actively used to move equipment, ammunition, and fuel from the rear to Russia's border areas in order to reinforce troop groupings operating on the Sumy axis.
"This locomotive will not be going anywhere again. The enemy's logistics supply chain has suffered another blow. While they search for a replacement locomotive, shells and equipment will not reach the front in time," ATESH said.
