In the Luhansk region, military intelligence officers found the bodies of two citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who were fighting on the side of the Russian Federation.

According to Ukrinform, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

The number of identified dead Russian mercenaries from Africa is growing, the Defense Intelligence Directorate noted.

In the Luhansk region, military intelligence officers found the bodies of Hamzat Kazeen Kolawole (born April 3, 1983) and Mbah Stephen Udoka (born January 7, 1988).

Both served in the 423rd Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment (military unit 91701) of the 4th Guards Kantemirovskaya Tank Division of the Russian Armed Forces.

They signed contracts with the Russian army in the second half of 2025: Kalawole on August 29 and Udoka on September 28.

Udoka did not undergo any training—just five days later, on October 3, he was enlisted in the unit and sent to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine that day.

No documents regarding Kalawole's training have been preserved, but it is highly likely that he also did not undergo any military training. He had a wife and three children in Nigeria.

Both Nigerians were killed in late November while attempting to storm Ukrainian positions in the Luhansk region. They never got into a firefight — a drone strike eliminated the mercenaries.

The DIU warns foreign citizens against traveling to the Russian Federation and against engaging in any work on its territory. A trip to Russia is a real chance to end up in a suicide squad and die.

As reported by Ukrinform, DIU soldiers found the bodies of two more citizens of the Republic of Kenya who fought on the side of Russia near Lyman. They are Ombwori Denis Bagaka, born on January 30, 1987, and Vakome Simon Gitita, born on May 21, 1991.
